And then we found each other
It has been a decade since we met.
It was a lovely Saturday afternoon, and what was meant to be a simple lunch between two friends became a lunch between those two friends and a friend of one of them.
We spent the afternoon talking, laughing and discovering the ease of two souls who seemed to have known each other long before that day. We parted ways when the afternoon came to an end, with no numbers exchanged and no promises of seeing each other again.
Nothing was planned.
Nothing was forced.
And yet, somehow, neither of us felt the need to make plans.
Perhaps, somewhere beyond what we could see, our paths had already been written to cross again.

A Tale of Two Souls
Over the next two years, a friendship quietly blossomed.
There were butternut soup dates and unexpected meetings at airports in foreign countries. There were phone calls that lasted for hours and text conversations that stretched across days. We spoke about everything and nothing, our dreams, our fears, our families, our convictions, our lives, and all the little things in between.
We did not know it then, but every conversation was watering a seed.
Every laugh was another drop of rain.
Every shared moment was nurturing something quietly taking root between us.
And slowly, almost imperceptibly, that little seed began to bloom.
The years passed, and somehow, the stars aligned.
Our conversations grew deeper. We began speaking not only about what we liked, but about what we believed. About our principles and values. About our hopes and fears. About the people we truly were when no one else was watching.
We began to see each other, really see each other.
And somewhere along the way, without a grand announcement or a single defining moment, we fell in love.
The truth is, we fell in love long before we knew it.
Perhaps it happened somewhere between the endless phone calls and the butternut soup dates.
Perhaps it lived quietly in the comfort of our conversations, in the laughter that came so easily, and in the growing certainty that forever is in our destiny.
We kept blossoming into something magical.
Something sacred.
Something beautiful.
Something that felt like home.

The Rhythm We Found
One of the most beautiful things about our love is that we are so different in the most wonderful ways.
One of us is calm, quiet and pragmatic; the other is bubbly, full of energy and wonderfully spontaneous.
One thinks things through.
The other sometimes says, “Let's just go!” and figures out the details along the way.
And somehow, in the space between those differences, we found our rhythm.
We became each other's balance.
The calm met the spark.
The stillness met the spontaneity.
And somewhere between who we were and who we were becoming, we created something that belonged entirely to us.
Our rhythm.
Our harmony.
Our symphony.
When Love Became a Language
Love songs suddenly made sense.
Poems began to resonate differently.
Words we had heard countless times before seemed to have been written especially for us.
We understood, for the first time, why people searched for impossible words to describe something so simple and yet so profound.
Because we had found each other.
And in the quiet of our hearts, we understood the words:
“I have found the one whom my soul loves.” Song of Solomon 3:4
We thought we had reached the deepest place love could take us.
But every day became proof that we were wrong.
Because every tomorrow brought a love deeper than yesterday.
Every season revealed another reason to choose each other.
Every ordinary day became extraordinary simply because we were living it together.
We discovered that love is not only found in grand gestures.
It is found in patience. In kindness. In consideration. In forgiveness. In laughter. In friendship.
In the quiet comfort of being completely ourselves.
And most of all, in choosing each other, again and again.
Ours is a love that feels like peace.
A love that feels like friendship and partnership, laughter and sanctuary.
A love gentle enough to comfort, strong enough to endure, and deep enough to keep growing.
A love we believe was not merely found, but God-ordained.

The Beginning of Forever
And then came 4 June 2025.
The day our story turned another beautiful page.
The day our two hearts that had been walking toward each other for years finally said:
Forever.
We got engaged.
And yet, somehow, even after a decade of knowing, loving, growing and choosing one another, it still feels as though our story is only beginning.
Because there is a chapter yet to be written.
A chapter where we stand before God, surrounded by the people we love, and exchange vows that will bind our lives together in faith, hope and everlasting love.
We began with an unexpected lunch.
We grew through friendship.
We fell in love somewhere between conversations, journeys, laughter and the ordinary moments that became extraordinary.
We became each other's calm and spark, stillness and movement, anchor and adventure.
And now, after all these years, we stand at the doors of forever.
Forever and always. Always, in all ways
And so, here we are.
Two souls.
One love.
One journey.
One beautiful, unfinished story.
Forever and always.
Always, in all ways.
And if these ten years have taught us anything, it is this:
Some stories are written by us.
But the most beautiful ones...
are written by God.

“I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine”
